Disaster Relief
Each disaster is unique and requires different resources to meet the needs of those impacted. Our goal is to respond to emergency situations by collaborating with Christian artists, concerts, events and partners around the world who are able to quickly and efficiently respond in times of crisis.
Ebola outbreak, Liberia, 2018
With the Ebola virus quickly spreading throughout parts of West Africa, Ignite Liberia is working closely to help those communities in Liberia who are at-risk of an Ebola outbreak. After experiencing the devastating 2014 Ebola outbreak, Ignite Liberia is working to provide preventative training and the necessary supplies to at-risk communities. Recently, Ignite Liberia’s Ebola Awareness Team underwent training on how to teach Ebola prevention classes to local communities; building awareness and the skills needed to reduce the impact of the virus. In addition to the Ebola prevention training classes, the Ebola Awareness Team purchased supplies such as disinfectant, buckets, gloves and food, distributing these items throughout local communities.
hurricane Florence, United States, 2018
In partnership with Awakening Events, the Awakening Foundation was part of a benefit for the community of New Bern, NC which was tragically affected by Hurricane Florence just weeks prior. Awakening Events had planned a ticketed Chonda Pierce event for that night but after the city was devastated by the hurricane, the whole team decided to turn the evening into a benefit, offering a night of laughter and hope to relief workers, residents and victims. No stranger to tragedy herself, Chonda was an ideal person to speak hope and life into the weary souls of those who attended. Through laughter, stories & even some tears, she led the crowd into “the presence of Jehovah”, which was one of the songs she sang. The evening was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. The Awakening Foundation and the Awakening Events teams were honored to be a part of giving this gift to the resilient community of New Bern.”
NIGHT OF HOPE, UNITED STATES, 2017

Ebola Outbreak, Liberia 2014-2015
In 2014 - 2015, Liberia was a center for one of the largest Ebola virus outbreaks in the history of West Africa. During this epidemic, many villages were quarantined and villagers were not permitted to leave to search for supplies or food. As a result, many not only died from the virus, but also died from starvation. During the course of this epidemic, the Ignite Liberia local team provided buckets, rubber gloves, disinfectant, and bags of rice to help feed starving families.
